Navigating Your Timeline
Moving and Scaling the Timeline
1
Swipe on timeline to scroll the timeline in any direction.
When you reach the edge of your existing timeline (i.e. the first or last event), the timeline will bounce and hold its position. This helps you navigate to either edge of the timeline without inadvertently going too far.
If you do want to scroll further (e.g. to look at future dates or add a new event outside the existing bounds), simply swipe again in the same direction after the bounce has completed.
2
Pinch on timeline to zoom (change the time scale of) the timeline. You can change the minimum and maximum allowed zoom limits via Timeline Settings.
Please note that you cannot zoom while the timeline is scrolling. When scrolling, tap on the screen to stop the scroll before attempting to zoom.
Finding a Date
You can scroll to a certain date on your timeline by activating the search bar.
1
Tap the search icon on the toolbar
2
Type the date you want to scroll to. Aeon Timeline will attempt to match this to a date on your timeline.
3
Tap on the suggested date to scroll to this date on the timeline.
Finding an Event
You can search for an event in the timeline by activating the search bar.
1
Tap the search icon on the toolbar
2
Type a search term, and a list will appear of all events whose title matches the search term.
3
Tap on an event in this list to be taken to it on the timeline.
The list will show both events that are visible on the current timeline, and ones that are hidden (ie. they are not displayed due to current groupings or filters). If you choose an hidden event, your current filter or group will change in order to scroll to that event on the timeline.
